Alice vs. Wonderland
New portfolio project in the works! I'm doing a redesign of 'Alice in Wonderland' in a simplified TV character design style. My idea is that the Mad Hatter's son (pictured) is sent by his father to find Alice and bring her to Wonderland; the Red Queen has taken control of Wonderland and keeps the Mad Hatter prisoner, and so Little Hatter needs Alice's help to free his father and restore Wonderland. Alice, yearning for adventure and tired of life in the Renaissance court, is given the flamingo sword to aid in her quest. She must overcome her haughtiness and focus on her task in order to save the Mad Hatter and Wonderland; Little Hatter must learn to be brave if he is to assist Alice and save his father.
I used reference of costumes from the Italian Renaissance period. More to come!
Alice and Little Hatter. Alice in her knight's armor is fearless and comfortable; forced to wear fashionable dresses at court, she is irritable and sassy.
Little Hatter wears his father's hat, the Mad Hatter having given it to him before being kidnapped by the Red Queen. He is a nervous boy, and looks up to Alice as a role model, but he too must learn to be brave.
